After Dwight finished college, the Army sent him to Germany. Joyce followed after the birth of their second child, alone and with two children under 2 years of age. Their third child was born in Germany. Their travels took them to also live in California, Texas and Maryland where their fourth child was born. Dwight started his own company, Mid-Atlantic Radiation Physics, Inc., and Joyce worked on the finances for 30 years. Together they travelled the world: China, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Hawaii.
