The Penguins welcome the streaking Buffalo Sabres to PPG Paints Arena tonight, with the Sabres having won four games in a row since their 5-2 loss to the Pens on February 5th, before the Olympics.
The Penguins have beaten Buffalo in four of their last five games and are 5-1-0 in their last six games against the Sabres in Pittsburgh.
It’s the day before the NHL trade deadline, so Penguins fans are waiting to see if President of Hockey Operations Kyle Dubas will be dealing, and whether it’s to acquire players for the future or for a run at the playoffs this season.
Dubas said yesterday on the Penguins Radio Network that his “template” for a trade would be the Egor Chinakhov deal he made in December, meaning a player preferably in his mid-twenties with team control, rather than a “rental” player who would leave after the season.
Tonight’s airtime for the game on 92.5 FM U92 is 6 o’clock.
