Over $5 million in liquid fuels money is coming to Indiana County to help with road and bridge projects.
This is part of a $460.8 million investment from PennDOT that is funded by state gas tax revenues and are meant to help municipalities pay for critical road maintenance like road repaving, bridge repairs and snow removal. How much each municipality will get is determined by a formula that factors in population and miles of locally-owned roads Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors Executive Director David Sanko said in a statement that reliable liquid fuels funding remains essential to keeping roads safe and well-maintained. PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll said that the governor’s commitment to keeping roads in the state safe and accessible is still a top priority, and that support is showing up where it is needed.
For Indiana County, White Township will receive the most for the county with a net allocation of $535,529. Indiana Borough will receive $356,402. Homer City Borough will get $56,367, and Blairsville will receive $103,948.
