The Pirates beat a short-handed Team Colombia yesterday, 7-1, as Jake Mangum and Billy Cook each had two hits, and Mangum, Konnor Griffin, and Jhostynxon Garcia all hit RBI doubles.
Jose Urquidy started for the Pirates and threw three scoreless innings, striking out three, giving up two hits and a walk.
The Pirates players are going fishing today…they have the day off.
Paul Skenes threw three innings, giving up a run and a hit and striking out four as Team USA beat the San Francisco Giants, 15-1, in an exhibition outing in Scottsdale, Arizona. After giving up the run in the first, Skenes retired the next nine batters.
