On Monday night, the Center Township Supervisors approved hiring TKL Code Inspection Service for uniform construction code administration and enforcement.
The supervisors also decided to terminate their contract with the county Office of Planning and Development for similar services. Supervisors Chairman Matt Housholder said that they went with TKL because the township was not receiving any money for building permits.
The contract with the county expires on April 13th, but those building in the township will have the choice of using TKL or the county for building code inspections until then.
The supervisors also appointed Ryan Cribbs of Nakles and Nakles attorneys at law to act as solicitor for any matters related between Center Township and Homer City Redevelopment. Housholder stated that the reason they went with Cribbs was because their current solicitor, Supinka and Supinka, also represents HCR on certain matters and they wanted to avoid any conflicts of interest.
