The Pittsburgh Penguins return to action this afternoon as they head to New York City to face the Rangers, but the front office was busy with a roster move.
Rookie Forward Fillip Hallander was recalled from a conditioning assignment with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last night. Hallander remains designated to injured reserve as a result of a blood clot in an unspecified leg that initially sidelined him in November. Since his assignment on February 18th, he skated on the left wing for three games and scored a goal.
Meanwhile, Sam Girard was absent from Friday’s practice. He was being evaluated for an undisclosed injury, according to head coach Dan Muse. Girard is travelling with the team to today’s game.
Due to our commitment to IUP Basketball, we will not have the game on the air today.
