Norma “Jean” (Hickok) Anderson, 94, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026. She died as she lived, in the heart of her beloved family.
A daughter of the late Donald and Lovell (Keith) Hickok, Jean was born January 11, 1932. Her life was defined by her unshakable love, faith and commitment to her family. She was a shining role model of truth and integrity.
Jean married Lisle Anderson in Alverda, PA on November 23, 1950. They shared 45 years of marriage together.
She loved to take walks outside on nice days, enjoying all of God’s creatures and creations while drinking a good cup of hot coffee. Jean also enjoyed baking Christmas cookies and making fudge for her family and friends. She looked forward to spending birthdays with her sisters and eating army gravy with them.
She is survived by her three children: Connie Sedgwick and her husband, Tim; Terry Anderson; Rick Anderson and his wife, Julie (Stansbury) Anderson, all of Indiana; four grandchildren, two step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jean is also survived by four siblings: Phyllis Edmiston, New York; Arveta Harbrige and her husband, Donald, Commodore; Ronald Hickok and his wife, Gail, Clymer and Wanda Hrubochak and her husband, Paul, Clymer.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Lisle; her sisters Betty Gibson, Donnilene Grant, Nancy Nagle; and her brothers, Leonard “Buzz”, Donald “Brown”, Larry “Butch”, and grandson, Jason Anderson.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, February 25th from 11:00 AM until 12 noon, the time of her funeral service, at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, 965 Philadelphia St., Indiana. Rev. Steve Lecorchick will officiate. Interment will be at McDowell Cemetery, Green Twp., Indiana Co., PA.
