What an atmosphere at River Valley last night, with two aggressive, physical teams and a wild crowd urging them on. And River Valley came from behind to get a win in the District 6 Triple-A quarterfinals. Todd Marino has the story.
Panthers coach Rick Spallone was thrilled…and exhausted.
Spallone said there was some rust after the Panthers endured a long layoff after the Heritage Conference championships. But he says that’s typical at this time of the year.
The coach says his team didn’t panic and made the necessary adjustments after they fell behind.

In addition to Bishop Guilfoyle’s win over Southern Huntingdon, the other half of the Triple-A boys bracket last night had Forest Hills topping Penns Valley 59-41, and Westmont Hilltop outlasted Tyrone, 45-34.
The boys Double-A semifinals tonight feature a Heritage Conference battle between undefeated top seed United, which comes into the game 25-0, against number four Northern Cambria, which is 16-7. They played each other twice in the regular season, with United winning, 68-36 in December and 61-46 on January 30th.
