A man is accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend using a U-Haul truck in the city of Butler on Saturday.
Local police were called to a store on Pillow Street around 2 p.m. after a woman came inside the business, telling workers she had just escaped from 53-year-old Kenneth Clarke. The victim reportedly told officers Clarke attacked her at a home on McGeary Street, hitting her in the face, dragging her out of the house, and forcing her into the cab of the truck while threatening to stab her with scissors. He drove off after the woman ran into the store, but he was later stopped in Cranberry and arrested, according to authorities.
Clarke is being held at the Butler County Jail on a list of counts including kidnapping, aggravated assault, and strangulation.
