A 37-year-old Punxsutawney man has been charged with felony aggravated assault following a domestic violence investigation in which police say he choked a woman and assaulted her during multiple disputes.
ExploreJeffersonPa.Com reports, Jason Lawrence Soliday was arrested Feb. 4 after officers determined that an initial report he made accusing the woman of threatening him with a knife stemmed from a pattern of abuse, according to court records. Police said the woman reported being unable to breathe for about 10 seconds during one incident and described earlier physical altercations. Soliday denied the allegations and was jailed for violating probation.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 12.
