BASKETBALL
BOYS
Undefeated United had an intriguing matchup with another highly-ranked team and possible future opponent in the District 6 Double-A playoffs. Against third-ranked Bishop McCort, number one United put together a 20-8 first quarter on the way to a 71-61 win. Four Lions players hit double figures led by Carter Payne’s 19. Dmitri Worthington scored 15, Brody Burkett 13, and Ryan Felix 10. United is 24-0, 22-0 in games that qualify for rankings points.
Tyler Pack hit five threes in the first half and finished the night with 22 points as Marion Center took down Conemaugh Valley, 67-58. Kamden Rozier scored 19 for the Stingers, and Colin Sacco had 10.
Moniteau outscored West Shamokin 58-49. Alex Talmadge hit four threes in the first half and led the Wolves with 20 points.
GIRLS
The Portage girls dropped a 51-48 decision to District 5 Windber. Britton Myher scored 13 for the Mustangs.
SWIMMING
Homer-Center swept a swim meet from the Kiski School in the Wildcats’ regular season finale, with the girls winning, 59-37 and the boys, 80-70.
For the girls, multiple event winners for Homer-Center were Morgan Nagy in the 200 free and 100 breaststroke, Andrea Kravetsky in the 200 medley and 100 backstroke. Natalia Thomas was first in the 50 free and Maria Frazer won the 100 free. And the Wildcats girls also won the 200 free relay and 200 medley relay.
For the boys, Blake Lucas won the 200 free and 100 butterfly, Landon Shoup was first in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke, Trevor Cameron won the 500 free and the Wildcats won the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

The Homer-Center boys delivered several standout performances of their own. Blake Lucas claimed first place in the 200 freestyle and followed with another win in the 100 butterfly. Trevor Cameron continued his strong season with a victory in the 500 freestyle and was a key contributor in multiple relays. Landon Shoup added two individual wins for the Wildcats, taking first in both the 100 backstroke and the 100 breaststroke.
Brady Frazer contributed with strong finishes in the sprint events and played an important role on the relay teams. The Wildcats’ depth was on display in the relays, as the boys team won both the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay to secure the overall win.
With the regular season complete, Homer-Center will look ahead to postseason competition. The next stop is the District VI Swimming and Diving Championships on Feb. 20–21 at Penn State University. 12 Homer-Center swimmers will compete after earning district-qualifying performances.
