Portage played non-conference last night and beat Southern Fulton, 61-53. Tyson Burkett lead the Mustangs with 14 points.
SWIMMING
Marion Center and Homer-Center split a swim meet last night, with the Stingers’ girls winning 113-45 and the Wildcats’ boys taking their meet, 90-62.

Marion Center High School’s swimming teams competed against Homer Center on February 4, 2026, with the Marion Center girls earning a decisive victory while the boys battled in a tough loss.
The Marion Center women’s team won the meet by a score of 113–45. Strong performances were seen throughout the lineup, beginning with a 1–2 finish in the 200 IM by Eva Long and Lilly Schultz. Marion Center also went 1–2 in the 50 freestyle with Charleigh Swigart and Emma Griffith. In the 100 butterfly, the Stingers swept the event with Jorjah Kessler finishing first, followed by Lilly Schultz and Mylene Buffone.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Jorjah Kessler, Eva Long, Charleigh Swigart, and Rowen Wagner earned first place. Eva Long and Reagan Storm followed with a 1–2 finish in the 100 backstroke, while Jorjah Kessler claimed first place in the 100 breaststroke.
Marion Center closed the meet with an impressive 1–2–3 sweep in the 400 freestyle relay. The first-place team consisted of Charleigh Swigart, Jorjah Kessler, Lindsey Reaugh, and Rowen Wagner. The second-place team included Emma Griffith, Mylene Buffone, Lilly Mano, and Maggie Vaglia, while the third-place relay featured Makenna Boring, Ava Hrabovsky, Olivia Buford, and Ayla Bash.
The Marion Center men’s team fell to Homer Center by a score of 62-90, but several notable performances highlighted the meet. Seth Boring earned first place in the 100 freestyle, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Jack Cooper, PJ Shellhammer, Seth Boring, and Carson Wells also captured a first-place finish.
Marion Center swimmers will continue their season with three meets across the next week as they build momentum toward championship competition.
