The Steelers have announced what is believed to be the completion of Mike McCarthy’s coaching staff, and we now know the role Frank Cignetti Jr. will play. The former IUP offensive coordinator, an Indiana High and IUP grad, will be the Steelers’ “senior offensive assistant”, reports Mark Kaboly on The Pat McAfee Show. His previous NFL coaching experience has mostly been with quarterbacks.
Other coaching hires announced yesterday:
Brian Angelichio has been named the new Steelers offensive coordinator. Danny Crossman is the new special teams coordinator. Former Washington Commanders defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. has been named assistant head coach/secondary coach. Former Bengals defensive lineman Domata Peko (a noted Steelers nemesis) is the new defensive line coach. Former Houston Texans offensive assistant Pat Reilly has been brought on as a defensive quality control coach, a position he had with previously with Jacksonville.
