The Pirates have signed 35-year-old nine-year MLB veteran right-hander Mike Clevinger to a minor league contract with an invitation to the major league training camp. He’s been with the White Sox organization the last three years, mostly in the minors. He appeared in eight games with the Sox last year with a 7.94 ERA. He’s also pitched for Cleveland and San Diego.
The Bucs lose out on another big-name free agent. Former Astros left-hander Framber Valdez has signed with the Tigers.
