A preliminary hearing is set today for a man charged with stabbing a woman last month.
Court documents show that Detroien Trezmen Hobbs of Maryland will go before district judge Robert Belle Sr. in Blairsville this morning. He is charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault with attempt to cause serious bodily injury, burglary and possession of an instrument of crime for the incident on January 21st where Indiana Borough Police were called out to a home in the 1100 block of Oak Street where the victim was caring for a care-dependent person. Hobbs and the victim had been in a brief relationship that turned abusive and after she broke it off, he broke into the house and stabbed her multiple times in the face, chest and arm. Thanks to the teamwork of IUP and Indiana Borough Police and Citizen’s Ambulance EMT’s, the victim survived the attack. She is now being aided by the Alice Paul House.
Bail was denied at his preliminary arraignment and he has been in Indiana County Jail since the incident.
