Monday night, the Center Township Supervisors tabled two motions concerning building code services.
The township supervisors have announced their intention to no longer utilize Indiana County for building and housing permits and to go with TKL Inspection of Indiana. Supervisors Chairman Matt Housholder said that they want to change providers as they wish to get some money for inspections.
The issue was tabled as the supervisors are waiting to see if the County will opt out of their contract early, and they have 90 days to do so. The other motion was an amendment to an ordinance concerning adoption of the uniform construction code of Pennsylvania for all construction projects, replacing any prior building codes and ordinances. That will go into effect once the new agreement is in place with TKL Inspection.
In other business, the supervisors adopted ordinances concerning vegetative growth, abandoned vehicles, and road excavation.
