The U.S. Coast Guard is closing the Allegheny River in the Pittsburgh region.
The Coast Guard says that due to icy conditions, the river is closed to all traffic, including barges, from where the Mon River and Allegheny River meet in downtown through mile marker 72.
The closure will be in place through March 1st or until conditions approve.
