The Steelers have not yet announced any of new coach Mike McCarthy’s assistants, but names continue to emerge from outside sources.
Both the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Steelers Now report that the Steelers are finalizing a deal with Patrick Graham to be the new defensive coordinator. Graham has been DC with the Raiders the last three seasons and has also served in the same role with the Dolphins and Giants.
The NFL Network reports McCarthy will add Adam Henry as receivers coach. He’s spent the last three seasons with the Bills after coaching for McCarthy in Dallas for two seasons. He’s also coached with the Raiders, 49ers, Giants, and Browns.
Former defensive back Clendon Thomas, a member of the Steelers’ “Legends Team” of stars from prior to 1970, has died at the age of 90. He played eight years with the Steelers, intercepting 23 passes, including eight in 1963 when he was a Pro Bowl selection and a second-team AP NFL All-Pro.
