The Pittsburgh City Council is urging U.S. senators from Pennsylvania to vote against additional funding for immigration agents.
Yesterday, members passed a will of council asking Senators John Fetterman and Dave McCormick to vote against a federal spending bill that would provide over 64-billion dollars for the Department of Homeland Security. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement would get ten-billion dollars of that money if the measure is approved.
Pittsburgh Councilwoman Barb Warwick says this would give ICE a “blank check” to expand their operations.
