Monday night, the Indiana School Board approved a recommendation from the Buildings, Grounds and Transportation Committee to interview two developers for the district’s proposed solar project.
The interviews will be with Coral Reef and Renewable Energy Partners The proposed panels for the project would generate over 1000 kilowatt hours and would be located on the roofs of East Pike, Eisenhower, the Junior High and the district’s bus garage. Committee chairman Tom Harley said this will help the district realize savings for their electric bill by essentially leasing the rooftops for solar generation without using taxpayer dollars.
In other business, the board approved the 2024-25 audit from Kotzan CPA and Associates. The audit was a clean one with no errors found.
