Pittsburgh is now under a State of Emergency.
This comes after heavy snow fell in the region and dangerously cold temperatures continue. Mayor O’Connor declared the emergency Monday morning, stating that more than 50 trucks are currently out working on the roads. The emergency allows for the city to use private contractors to aid in clearing roadways, as more than three-dozen of the city’s trucks broke down overnight.
The public is asked to avoid driving unless absolutely necessary.
