The Shapiro Administration is urging Pennsylvanians to prepare for a major winter storm expected to move across the Commonwealth starting Saturday night and lasting into Monday morning.
Forecasters say that like Indiana County, much of the state could see significant snowfall, along with dangerously cold temperatures that may linger into early next week. Emergency officials are encouraging residents to check forecasts often, adjust travel plans, and stock up on essentials like food, water, medications, and batteries before the storm arrives.
At a new conference in Harrisburg earlier this afternoon, Turnpike CEO Mark Compton reiterated how dangerous conditions could get, and how important it is for residents to adhere to any restrictions in place.
Residents are also reminded to clear snow and ice from vehicles, follow Move Over laws, and dress for extreme cold. State agencies will continue monitoring conditions and providing updates throughout the storm.
