Over $17 million in Growing Greener grant money is headed out to 89 projects across the commonwealth. Growing Greener is the largest single investment of state funds in Pennsylvania’s history to address critical environmental concerns.
Indiana County’s Conservation District will receive over $1.5 million for the six projects, which include:
- Riparian Buffers

- McNutt Heavy Use Area and Manure Storage Implementation Project
- Pine Run Streambank Stabilization Project.
Growing Greener grants can be awarded to watershed groups, local or county government, municipal authorities, county planning commissions, county conservation districts, council of governments, educational institutions, or non-profit organizations. Grantees have up to three years to implement their projects.
