A jury trial is being scheduled for a man accused of improperly disposing of pet remains in Allegheny County.
The state AG’s office claims that while 71-year-old Patrick Vereb owned funeral and pet cremation services, he scammed more than 65-hundred people by disposing animal remains in a landfill instead of properly cremating them.
Vereb was supposed to face a non-jury trial, but will now face a jury trial beginning on June 3rd on charges of theft by deception, receiving stolen property and deceptive business practices.
