Work, Clubs & Organizations: He graduated from Erie Academy High School and served in the US Army with the 291st Field Artillery Battalion in Germany from 1954-1956. After returning to Erie he was employed by Penelec at the Front Street Generating Station. He was a boys baseball coach and a member of the East Erie Turners, Greek Catholic Slovak Club and also the Sacred Heart Usher’s Club. Don married Mary E. Schloss Andrews on October 19, 1957 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Erie, PA. They moved to Blairsville in 1969 where they raised five children. Don completed his 44 year career with Penelec at the Homer City Generating Station. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, hunting and reading. Don was an avid sports fan and especially loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Visitation:
James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A wake service will be held Wednesday at 8:30 PM in the Funeral Home.
Funeral:
Prayers of transfer will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 9:15 AM pior to a funeral mass at SS Simon & Jude Church at 10:00 AM. Fr. Stephen R. Bugay will officiate. VFW Post #5821 & the American Legion Post #0407 will conduct military services Thursday morning.
Interment: Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
