At a meeting Wednesday night, the Penns Manor School board passed a resolution to not go above the Act 1 index should the district wish to raise taxes.
The Pennsylvania Department of Education set the index at 5.1%. Board Treasurer Debora Tate said that the percentage was lower than last year due to people joining a property tax program.
The budget is due by the end of June.
The board also approved an agreement with S.P. McCarl to complete the district’s main water pressure valve replacement project at a cost of $8,377. Capitol reserve funds will be used to pay for the project.
