GIRLS BASKETBALL
It was a rare close one for Penns Manor, but the Comets prevailed, 41-39, against a tough effort by Cambria Heights. Adia Lieb scored 13 points to lead the way, and coach Jason Miloser credited Katie Bertolino for her leadership, scoring 7 points with 6 rebounds and 4 assists, including going 5-for-6 at the free throw line. Point guard Kinley Rogal led the Highlanders with 14 points.
River Valley got back on the winning track with a 62-46 win over Conemaugh Valley. Maddie Twincheck scored 27 points, Alessia LaMantia 18, and Kennedy Cole 15 for the Panthers.
Marion Center rolled over Northern Cambria, 52-15. Macie Miller scored 16 points for the Stingers and Gracynn Silvis had 11.
Portage jumped out to a 27-9 first quarter lead and topped Homer-Center 59-43. Kendall Bednarski scored 20 for the Mustangs, and Cassie Burkett had a career-high 11. Britton Myher also scored 11, while the Wildcats were led by Becca Marshall’s 17 and Taylor Rado’s 11.
United took down Purchase Line, 36-23.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Aaron Webb scored 30 points and Darius Webb added 17 as Indiana improved to 10-4, 4-2 in 5A Section 2 with a 60-38 win over Plum.
RIFLE
Indiana lost to Butler, 789-43x to 800-68x. Indiana’s top shooters were Gavin Dicken with a perfect score of 100-10x, and Emelia Campisano (100-6x).
Portage outshot Northern Cambria, 1107-1089. Top shooters for the Mustangs were Ana Selapack (254) and Isabella Scarton (248). Top shooter for the entire match was the Colts’ Anna Griffiths (282)
WRESTLING
Tonight is Senior Salute Night for the Indiana High wrestling team against section foe Fox Chapel. The action gets underway with the Junior High wrestlers at 5:30, and the varsity team takes to the mats at 7:00.
