Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco will conduct a motions hearing on Monday for 25-year-old Reed Thomas Tantlinger of Homer City, who is charged with homicide by vehicle while DUI in a January 2023 crash in Pine Township.
Tantlinger is accused in the death of 25-year-old Hunter McCloskey, whose vehicle was struck by Tantlinger’s pickup as McCloskey was making a turn from Route 422 onto Red Pine Road. A group of people, including McCloskey and Tantlinger, had been drinking at a bar and were all going home. Police said Tantlinger was driving at an estimated 107 miles per hour when his truck illegally passed a vehicle behind McCloskey’s, then collided with the victim’s car, ejecting McCloskey and killing him.
Tantlinger pled guilty last May but in October his request to withdraw his plea was granted. Jury selection for his trial is scheduled on February 23rd.
