The Presidents’ Athletic Conference named a Homer-Center graduate as its PAC Hitter of the Week in softball during Week 6 of the 2022 season, covering games April 4 through 10.
Junior infielder Abby Ginter of Saint Vincent won the honor after she hit .619 (13-21) with three doubles, a triple, three home runs, 14 RBIs and eight runs scored during the Bearcats’ 5-1 week. Over the six games she posted a slugging percentage of 1.286 and an on-base percentage of .640.
In last Monday’s doubleheader split with Juniata, she went a combined 4-for-7 with six RBIs, highlighted by her go-ahead grand slam in the sixth inning of Saint Vincent’s 9-6 win in the opener. In Wednesday’s doubleheader sweep of Franciscan, Ginter went a combined 5-for-6. In game one, she went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs before going 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs in the nightcap.
In SVC’s opener with Chatham on Sunday, Ginter walked twice and smacked a two-run home run before closing with a double, two singles and an RBI in the nightcap.
This season Ginter is hitting .500 with five doubles, a triple, five home runs, 29 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
