Portage routed Northern Cambria 56-7. Portage improves to 7-6, and 5-3 in section play, while Northern Cambria remains winless.
Penns Manor’s pressure defense and transition points off turnovers gave them a 24-7 lead after one quarter and they cruised home for the 23-point win 62-39. River Valley had only six players available. Adia Lieb scored 22 points and Josslyn Bennett 11 for the Comets. Kennedy Cole scored 18 and Alessia LaMantia 10 for the Panthers.
Marion Center took a 15-point lead after one quarter and rolled past Homer-Center, 64-43. Averi Ruddock had 18 points for the Stingers, Macie Miller 16, Natalie Black 12, and Alivia Ruddock 11. For the Wildcats, Taylor Rado and Madison Brendlinger each scored 13.
Purchase line girls beat West Shamokin 40-21.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Indiana High Boys lost to Shaler last night 63-51. Aaron Webb had 27 and his brother Darius had 16. Indiana is now 9-4 and 3-2 in section 2 play.
The River Valley boys raced past Penns Manor, 77-39. In the boys’ game, the Panthers hit their first three shots, all three-pointers, and built an 11-0 lead. Penns Manor had only six players in uniform and could not close the gap. River Valley was led by Jeremy Reed with 13 points, Max Persichetti with 12, and Bryaon McDowell with 11.
