Pennsylvania State Police investigated 1,098 crashes and arrested 378 drivers for DUI during a five-day New Year’s holiday enforcement period from Dec. 31 to Jan. 4, officials said.
The crashes resulted in three fatalities and 158 injuries, with impaired driving cited as a factor in 69 crashes, including one fatal wreck.
Troopers also issued thousands of traffic citations as part of enhanced statewide patrols aimed at reducing impaired driving and other dangerous behaviors.
