This year’s butter sculpture at the Pennsylvania Farm Show is getting in the patriotic spirit for America’s birthday.
The one-thousand-pound sculpture unveiled on Thursday is titled “A Toast to Our Nation’s 250th Anniversary: Inspired by Founders. Grown by Farmers.” It depicts the signing of the Declaration of Independence in butter along with other patriotic symbols including the Liberty Bell and a tribute to Betsy Ross. Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding said the sculpture reflects how agriculture has been the roots of the nation’s growth and prosperity for 250 years, and how Pennsylvania farmers will continue to lead the way.
