Two men from Shelocta are due in court today for preliminary hearings on charges of evading police and trespassing.
Police in Indiana Borough charged 50-year-old Andrew Dunkle and 47-year-old Matthew Strotman with felony criminal trespass, evading arrest or detention on foot, burglary, theft by unlawful taking, theft of secondary metal, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief along with possession of an instrument of crime for an incident on November 4th near the Essex House Apartments on Oakland Avenue. Officers were sent there at 3:00 PM for a burglary in progress and saw the two men leaving the building. Officers recovered copper pipe along with cutting instruments and a gas generator. The two were apprehended after a brief foot chase.
Both men are free on $50,000 bail. Today’s hearings will be in front of District Judge Robert Bell Sr.
