During the reorganization part of the meeting, two nominees were put forward for borough council president. A vote to reappoint Luke Debuyser tied at 4-4 and Mayor Simelton abstained. The board then appointed Jonathan Smith by a 7-1 vote. Smith talks about what he looks forward to in his first term as council president.
Council also approved a resolution to adopt the wage and benefit schedule for all non-bargaining unit employees for 2026 and approve an engineering services agreement with Stiffler-McGraw for 2026.
