The Pittsburgh Penguins will play the second half of a home-and-away series against the Detroit Red Wings. At practice yesterday, Pens Head Coach Dan Muse was asked about the sudden spike in the number of penalties in the game against the Red Wings Thursday night. The game before, in Chicago, the Pens remained out of the penalty box, but they were assessed eight penalties on Thursday. As to why that happened, he’s as confused as anyone else.
Evgeni Malkin took part in the brief practice session yesterday in a non-contact jersey. This marked his first practice or open skate since suffering an undisclosed injury on December 9th. His status is week to week, but he will not join the team on this roadtrip.
Due to our commitment to IUP basketball, we will not have today’s game on the air.
