Upstreet Ace Hardware has announced that it will close its doors for good by the end of this month.
The hardware store first opened about two-and-a-half years ago in Downtown Indiana, and was intended to be local anchor store for the business district. While the store received the highest customer satisfaction ranking among Western PA Ace locations, the decision to close was based on sales trailing initial projections, and the arrival of competing businesses in the region.
In a statement, General Manager Matthew Jackson expressed the ownership’s gratitude to the employees for their hard work and dedication, and to the customers who shopped there. A tentative last day has been set for January 30th.
