One of the few bright spots this weekend for Pittsburgh sports was last night in Chicago as the Pens got off to a fast start and didn’t look back against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Paul Steigerwald reports.
Pens Coach Dan Muse says he’s happy with how his team played after taking a big lead early.
Penguins forward Justin Brazeau says he was happy to get his first hat trick in a few years.
Next up for the Pens will be a game tomorrow night at PPG Paints Arena against the Carolina Hurricanes, then a game on New Year’s Day against the Detroit Red Wings.
Meanwhile, the Pens placed forward Danton Heinen on waivers prior to last night’s game. This allows for some room on the roster for the return of Blake Lizotte from injured reserve. Should Heinen clear waivers by 2:00 PM today, he can be reassigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Baby Pens.
