More than seven-point-eight million dollars in Local Share Account funding is being awarded to projects across Pennsylvania’s 41st Senatorial District, according to Senator Joe Pittman.
The grants, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, will support 29 projects focused on economic development, infrastructure upgrades, public safety, and community improvements.
Indiana County is receiving a significant share of the funding. One million dollars is going to the Highridge Water Authority for a major waterline extension into Blacklick Township. Blairsville Borough will receive nearly eight-hundred-sixty-thousand dollars to build a new police garage, along with additional funding to replace the roof at the Blairsville Volunteer Fire Department.
Other projects include replacing a dilapidated municipal building in Montgomery Township, purchasing new street sweepers for Indiana Borough, and funding new trucks, tractors, and snowplow equipment for several townships.
State officials say the funding will help address local priorities, support economic growth, and improve quality of life throughout the district.
