Christmas was a relatively quiet day for Indiana County’s first responders.
One structure fire call was reported. That was at 1:54 PM on Pine Flats Road in Cherryhill Township. Cherryhill, Clymer, Pine Township and Commodore fire departments were sent out along with the HAZMAT team. Cherryhill fire officials said that some food had boiled over on a stove, and the fire was out by the time crews arrived. Firefighters pulled the stove out to check the backwall with a thermal imaging camera and determined everything was clear. They advised the owner to contact a service technician before using the stove again as a precaution.
There were also two automatic fire alarm activations. The first was on Rhonda Lane in White Township at 11:33 AM, and the other was at 1:59 PM on Route 403 North in Pine Township. Indiana and Pine Township fire departments were sent out respectively.
And in the overnight hours, there were two landing zones set up. One was at 10:01 last night on Stevens Road in Conemaugh Township by Tunelton Fire Department. The other was for North Harmony Road in Cherryhill Township at 2:51 this morning, with Cherryhill Township Firefighters summoned at the time.
