KITCHEN FIRE REPORTED ON WATER STREET IN INDIANA BOROUGH

A structure fire was reported Monday afternoon in Indiana Borough.

Indiana fire crews were sent to a home in the 400 Block of Water Street where crews discovered a grease fire in the kitchen. Officials say the resident of the home tried to put it out using a pot lid, but the fire kept reigniting. It was at this point that they called on the services of Indiana fire association, who were assisted by Indiana borough police.

Damage from smoke and heat was confined to the kitchen area of the home. No injuries were reported.
