James Clair Sprankle, Sr., 84, of Penn Run, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025, in Indian Haven Personal Care Home. He was born in Trade City on October 3. 1941, to the late Leo and Mary Eileen (Smith) Sprankle.
James was a carpenter with Local 1419 until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed remodeling homes and was known for doing anything for anyone in need. In his free time, he loved hunting and fishing as well as gardening. James was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish.
Surviving James is his wife of 61 years Kathleen Ann (Yanoscsik) Sprankle, son James C. Sprankle, Jr., sister-in-law Frances “Mimi” Yanoscsik, and sister-in-law Jane Pala.
Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his grandparents Dora and Bud Smith.
At James’s request, all services will be private, burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Louis Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lucerne Mines.
