BASEBALL
IUP knocked off Cal U, 8-4, yesterday in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader. Game two was rained out and will be played today. The Crimson Hawks broke open the game with a six-run second inning with all nine batters getting a hit in the inning, including three doubles. Leading 6-4 in the fifth, IUP scored two more on a two-run home run by Harrison Pontoli. Four IUP players had multiple hits in the game. Pontoli had a double, homer, and four RBIs.
SOFTBALL
IUP swept the PSAC West softball weekly awards, with Bella Bucy being named Pitcher of the Week and Joelle Snyder getting Athlete of the Week. Bucy was 1-0 with a save in three appearances. Snyder hit .571 with three RBIs and five stolen bases.
GOLF
IUP finished 18th out of 23 teams at the NCAA Super Region Preview yesterday, 34 strokes behind first-place Davis & Elkins. Jack Buccigross led IUP, shooting 8-over for the two rounds and in a tie for 15th.
