Marion Center swept to wins over Punxsutawney, Kane, and West Shamokin on Saturday at the Redbank Valley Duals.
The Stingers beat Punxsutawney, 43-28, with wins by fall by Griffin Tinsman, and by decision by Mike Fabri, Noah Filipovich, and Carter Knox. Chris Ruffner was leading his match and won when his opponent had to retire due to injury.
Marion Center then wiped out Kane, 65-0, in a match that featured a number of forfeits. Landon Spence, Tinsman, and Tyler Phillips all won by fall, and Fabri won by decision.
Finally, the Stingers took on Heritage Conference rival West Shamokin in the most competitive match of the day. Marion Center prevailed, 47-30, as Tinsman recorded his third victory by fall of the day, with other wins by fall for Filipovich, Ryder Blews, Colton Blazavich, and Spence. West Shamokin’s winners were Judah Harkleroad, Elijah Harkleroad, and Rocco Buffone, all by fall.
