State Representative Jim Struzzi says Democrats in the House last week “dodged” votes on two bills designed to prevent biological males from playing women’s sports.
The House Education Committee re-referred the “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act” and the “Dads Defending Daughters” bills to the Judiciary Committee. Struzzi asserts that it’s not a judiciary issue. He says the action was done “solely to avoid a discharge resolution that would force the committee to bring the bills up for a vote.”
Struzzi says polls indicate that 80 percent of people, regardless of political party, support women’s sports being for biological women only. He says while the bills show that Republicans want to protect the rights of girls and women to compete on a level playing field, “majority House Democrats are still afraid to call it up for a vote.”
