Senator Joe Pittman and Representatives Jim Struzzi and Brian Smith have announced that over $3 million in Local Share Account funding is coming to ten projects in Indiana County.
The following projects were approved for investment by the Commonwealth Financing Authority:
- $1 million for a waterline expansion project in Blacklick Township.
- $859,000 to Blairsville Borough for a police garage
- $500,000 for the Montgomery Township Building Project
- $356,376 to Indiana Borough to purchase street sweepers
- $199,900 for a roof project for Blairsville fire Department
- $191,000 to Armstrong Township for a new tractor
- $190,965 to Canoe Township to purchase a truck
- $106,187 to the Cherryhill Township fire department to buy a new brush truck
- $98,870 to buy SCBA apparatus for the Brush Valley Fire Department
- $82,197 for a service truck for Washington Township
In a statement, Senator Joe Pittman said that these investments will “help ensure municipalities can meet the needs of residents both now and in the future.” Struzzi said the investments were important as “Indiana County is poised for tremendous economic growth and with that growth our communities must have first class infrastructure and community services.”
