The chancellor of the State System of Higher Education has wrapped up his first tour of the system’s schools.
The 2025 fall tour allowed Chancellor Christopher Fiorentino to meet with students, faculty and staff at the 10 universities at 14 campuses. Fiorentino also got the chance to see many different academic programs including nursing, education , advanced manufacturing, engineering, business, law enforcement and others. In his blog post, he said that the students he talked to were optimistic about the future, even though they are navigating an uncertain world.
He also said that the faculty and staff “are committed to our mission, even while all of higher education is asked to do more with less.” He acknowledged that the universities have repeatedly evolved to meet student needs, and they have an opportunity in the present to “work together and sustain our vital mission for our students.”
