The Pirates have signed former Texas Rangers infielder Davis Wendzel to a minor league contract. He was a first round draft pick by the Rangers in 2019 but has never been able to stick with them or with the Reds, with whom he signed last year after Texas designated him for assignment. He hit .251 with 13 home runs for the Reds’ triple-A Louisville team in 2025.
