The Indiana County Municipal Emergency Services Authority will hold its public hearing tonight on the organization’s 2026 service plan.
The ICMESA is being promoted as a solution to ensure that communities have reliable EMS coverage. It is being seen as a provider of reliable, stable funding to existing local EMS providers along with being able to negotiate better insurance reimbursement rates for EMS providers, support workforce recruitment and retention, expand training and community first-response programs, and to jointly plan with communities and providers to make sure the system will meet future needs.
Thirty-one municipalities incorporated the ICMESA earlier this year and tonight will be an explanation of the service plan. Those agencies will have the ability to opt-out within a certain time span if they feel the program is not for the community.
The meeting will be held at the Homer-Center High School Auditorium starting at 7:00 tonight.
