The average cost of a gallon of gas across the country has dipped below three dollars for the first time in four years, but Pennsylvania’s average remains above it.
As of this morning, the national average is $2.94 a gallon, continuing a trend of falling prices from last week. Pennsylvania’s average this morning is $3.16 a gallon, seeing a similar five-cent drop to the state average.
Indiana County’s average today is $3.26. In our region, Armstrong County has the highest average while Jefferson County’s average is the lowest at $3.12. In Indiana, gas prices are hovering around $3.29. GasBuddy.com shows the price war in Center Township is continuing, with Sheetz offering $3.29 a gallon, Kwik Fill at $3.09 and Accent Fuels at $2.99. In Blairsville, the average is $3.35.
