In Girls Basketball, Homer-Center crushed Northern Cambria 60-19. Julianna Fabin led the Wildcats with 18 points. Bekah Marshall had 16 and Taylor Rado had 12. Homer-Center came out hot in the first half, scoring 20 points in both the first and second quarters. Northern Cambria’s Alexa Fox had most of her points in the first half, ending the night on 14.
The River Valley Girls beat United 67-43. Maddie Twinchek led the Panthers with 20 points, while Kenady Kitner had 16 and Alessia Lamantia had 14 points and Kennedy Cole had 11. The Panthers and the Lions were tied at the half, but River Valley poured it on in the second, outscoring United 41-17. For the Lions, Lilly McGinnis had 16 points on the night and Ella Worthington had 15.
In the Junior High game, River Valley beat United 30-14. Mayla Gaston led the way with 17 points.
Penns Manor remains undefeated in Heritage Conference play with a win over Conemaugh Township 62-20. The Comets defense limited CT’s offense to no more than seven points in each quarter. Clara Henry had 14 points, while Adia Lieb had 12.
Purchase Line’s Rylee Mahaffey had a career night with 27 points in a 71-44 win over Conemaugh Valley. Leah Nelson added 15 of her own, including three three-pointers. Illy Darcangelo scored 22 points for CV.
Cambria Heights beat West Shamokin 56-48. The Wolves tried to comeback late but it fell short. Evie Grantz led West Shamokin with 19 points. Cambria Heights’ Kinley Rogal scored a game-high 20 points.
Indiana defeated St. Joseph’s at the Dubois Central Catholic tournament 53-46. Julia Antonacci put Indiana in the lead for good with a key 3-pointer in the 4th quarter.
